Ethics
At Papppus Play therapy I work within Axline's 8 Principles which are:

1. To create a warm friendly relationship
2. Accepts child as s/he is
3. Establishes a feeling of permissiveness - so the child feels free to express themselves
4. Alert to recognise the feeling the child is expressing & reflects those feelings back to them
5. Deep respect for the child's ability to solve his/her problems and give the child opportunity to do so
6. Does not attempt to direct the child's actions or conversation in any manner
7. Does not attempt to hurry therapy along
8. Establishes those limitations necessary to anchor the therapy to the world or reality and to make the child aware of his/her responsibility in the relationship
Principles
- Non-Maleficence Avoid harming the client
- Justice Fair impartial treatment, equitable access
- Self-Respect Practitioner’s self knowledge & care for self
- Beneficence Promoting the clients well being
- Fidelity honouring the trust placed in you
- Autonomy respect for the clients right to be self-governing the interests of the child are paramount
